fOUNDER, tANZI lEARY

Tanzi is a "Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed" (CPDT-KA) and "Pat Miller Certified Trainer" (PMCT). That means she is certified by both the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers via an extensive examination, and by a famous trainer, Pat Miller, both via examination and demonstration of training methods in several intense academies. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional, meaning she earned certification from the Fear Free Pets organization to be able to assist clients and veterinarians with handling techniques to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in dogs during visits. She takes continuing education classes frequently to stay current in her knowledge, too.

She works with all breeds, sizes, and energy levels and worked with dogs in a shelter environment for two years. She is married with 2 kids and 3 dogs, so she knows what it's like to get a bunch of family members to cooperate with very little free time for training practice.  She will help you understand why your dog is doing what he's doing. Then she will teach you how to get your dog to do what you want him to do when you want him to do it, so living together is a lot more fun (for both of you!)

trainer, Laurie corak

Laurie is a "Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed" (CPDT-KA.) That means she is certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers via an extensive examination. She has been a dog lover since childhood, growing up surrounded by dogs on her family’s farm in Baltimore County and now she and her husband live with their two dogs in the county. Her Labrador, Moose, is a certified therapy dog and they participated in Enoch Pratt’s reading program to help children gain confidence in their reading abilities. In 2012, when her household gained a second dog, Pickles the pit bull, she became more interested in dog behavior. She started assisting a local trainer and progressed to teaching puppy and beginner classes. She has also worked for a large dog daycare and training facility, supervising group play and giving private lessons.

She truly enjoys helping people with their wild, sometimes frustrating, adolescent dogs – a situation she was in not long ago with her pit bull. He forced her to look at things differently, and instead of finding things wrong with his behavior, she began managing the environment to set him up for success. She also made sure his physical and mental needs were being met through brain games, trick training, and scent work. These somewhat small changes helped their relationship evolve from one filled with frustration to one based on understanding. She’d love to help you get there with your own dog!

trainer, Stephen lewis

Stephen is a "Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed" (CPDT-KA) and “Karen Pryor Academy, Certified Training Partner” which means he is certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers via an extensive examination and also graduated from an intensive six-month long dog training academy. He also continues his education by regularly attending dog training seminars and workshops that focus on modern, humane, science-based dog training methods.

Stephen is passionate about bridging the gap between fun pet dog training and the latest in behavioral science. He is committed to using humane, force-free methods that have been reliably proven to work.  His goal is to help owners establish strong, healthy relationships with their dogs through positive training.  He will motivate your dog with healthy treats, play, and access to daily activities your dog enjoys. He will involve as many family members as possible (assuming everyone is willing and interested in participating).  He does NOT train using old-school coercion, which is unnecessary and carries risks (Click here to see The American Veterinary Society of Applied Behavior Position Paper on the Use of Punishment in Training).
