PUPPY sleepaway camp

Who is this package for?

Puppies 10 weeks to 12 months old

How do I start?

First, if you aren't a current client, you'll book a 45-minute intake call for $65 to assess the goals and behavior and decide if you should proceed with Sleepaway camp or a different training package. The cost of the call will be deducted from the other training packages if you go that direction. Current clients do not need to repeat their intake call.

What do I get?

  • Meet & greet for about 20 minutes to check out the facility in Hydes, MD, meet Laurie, and review goals

  • 14 consecutive days of sleepaway camp for your puppy to work on training goals and jumpstart your training with (2) hour-long training transfer sessions after camp ends

    • Drop off midday to early afternoon / Pick up prior to 6pm

  • Personalized attention including individual training time, alone time, and play time daily - 3 pup maximum

  • No shock collars used, ever, unlike many board & train programs- use of shock can increase fearful and aggressive behavior

  • Daily access to a large, fenced yard

  • Kennels are heated and cooled and monitored by Laurie via video when she isn't with your puppy

  • For puppies under 6 months, the program might include:

    • socialization outings to experience different surfaces, sights, sounds, and people at places like Lowe’s, coffee shops, parks, craft stores, and grocery store parking lots

    • playdates with other puppies and appropriate adult dogs

    • confidence building through safe exploring of different surfaces (wobble board, balancing on a short ledge, paws up, etc)

    • behaviors like name response, coming when called, leave it, drop it, impulse control work with toys, leash skills, sit for greetings, practiced in new places.

    • option to add a third week for an additional fee with a focus on leash walking and greetings

  • For puppies 6 months and over, this program might include:

    • If appropriate, playdates with other dogs similar in age, playstyle, temperament

    • If appropriate, outings to practice manners work in new spaces, like Lowe’s or public parks

    • Confidence building through training games and food puzzles
